I purchased a size 11 pair of these gym shoes recently and was pleasantly surprised when they arrived to find out how light, soft and comfortable they are. Such plimsoll-style footwear is hard to find these days, particularly in larger fittings, probably because modern manufacturers and distributors regard gym shoes as the sole preserve of women and children with relatively small feet. I appreciate their plain look, their traditional lacing and pebbled rubber foxing and toe caps and last but not least their very affordable price. It is too early to judge their resistance to wear and tear, but so far they have proved themselves to be very fit for purpose.
